Our Co-founder Guy Kioni has been appointed as a Fellow at the distinguished Cambridge Middle East and North Africa Forum (MENAF)'s Critical Minerals Initiative (CMI).
In this role, he will be leading and supporting discussions, research, and analysis on the geopolitical implications of the critical mineral supply chain, with a particular focus on the West-Middle East-Africa axis.
The demand for critical minerals, essential for energy transitions, technology, and economic resilience, has made supply chains more geopolitically significant than ever. The CMI, launched in November 2024 in collaboration with Missang Ltd, is dedicated to fostering relationships across government, business, and research sectors, providing actionable insights to shape sustainable and strategic partnerships between the UK, Africa, and the Middle East.
This initiative reflects a growing recognition of Africa’s immense mineral wealth and the increasing role of Middle Eastern players in shaping the market. Through data-driven analysis, policy engagement, and thought leadership, we aim to rebalance supply chains and promote responsible, mutually beneficial cooperation across regions.
💡Guy focus are:
Leveraging the UK’s regulatory and financial frameworks
Connecting Africa’s resource-rich potential
Mobilising GCC capital to scale local beneficiation, traceability, and green industrialisation
This fellowship is about economic diplomacy in action by aligning national development with the global energy transition while ensuring communities in producing nations share in the prosperity.
At Missang, we look forward to collaborate with policymakers, industry leaders, and researchers to address the opportunities and challenges in this evolving landscape.
If you're working in the critical minerals space or interested in geo-economic dynamics, let’s connect and explore ways to drive impact together! 🌍🔋💡.
We thank the whole leadership at Cambridge Middle East and North Africa Forum (MENAF) for the consideration and great honour.
